Visiting rat (um, I mean chihuahua)

So, my grandparents came to visit last week, which was great.  Grandparents = food!!!  I like simple math equations.  Unfortunately, grandparents also mean the little rat (aka chihuahua) that my beloved grandmother schleps with her everywhere.  For the life of me, I don't know why she doesn't just get a real dog.  The only good thing about the rat dog is I can steal her food anytime I want, since I am like quintuple her size . . .

Here she is eating a small bone.  I am sizing up the situation and strategizing at this time

As you can see, the little rat dog is trying to frighten me away.  Do I look like I am intimidated?  Silly little rat . . .

This is the truce after the battle

Adoption Fair

Hi all!  I know I have been notoriously silent recently (I blame it on the scorching hot Florida summer sun!), but I wanted to tell you all about the important event my family and I attended today.  There was an Animal Adoption Fair in Ft. Lauderdale this morning/afternoon that hosted rescue groups from all over south Florida, and not just for dogs but cats, birds, hamsters, etc. as well!  Of course, the most prominent and most important group was Mommy's favorite:  Compassionate Pug Rescue (or CPR, as they like to call themselves).  I have to say that they were one of the most visited booths of the entire fair . . . I am sure I don't have to explain why!

Look at all those adorable guys in there.  I think my parents petted each one of them about ten times.

This one was one of Mommy's favorites as she kept coming back to him and playing with him.  Uh-oh!  I tried to tell my parents that I was well-adjusted as an only pug child, and that a pug sibling was not necessary.

Mommy was tempted to pick him up and run away with him when the booth ladies weren't looking

Apres the Rain

We have been having plenty of afternoon/evening rain here on the East Coast of Florida.  I don't particularly like the rain, but it does cool off the temperature considerably.

Here I am working on my summer tan.  Don't worry - I have sunscreen on (SPF 30 baby!).

These ibis birds usually pop up in droves after a rainstormMommy counted at least 20 of them in our backyard.

I am sure there are mighty fine insects that float up to the surface after the rain.  Me?  I prefer dead lizards and worms.

Rrrrribit

We had a major rainstorm last night and my brilliant parents left one of the lanai doors open.  So guess who decided to avail themselves to my famous pug hospitality?

Mommy saw something jump at the corner of her eye.  She turned to investigate and saw this little critter on our sliding door.

This little critter can jump - he jumped from the door to the bookshelf, like 4 feet away!

Mommy had to scoot this little guy out of the house quick! before I saw it.  You see, I have a habit of catching, killing, and eating lizards and small frogs (they taste like chicken).   My parents think it is gross, but I see nothing wrong with it - after all, I am a ferocious canine!

Pets Not Allowed

I am still sulking because it is not fair!  Every Sunday, my parents and sis go to the town Green Market and have a blast there.  I was told that I cannot accompany them because of this stupid sign:

I don't get it.  Why can't my Dad just knock the sign down or pretend he is a college freshman and steal it?  I mean, no sign no problem, right?

This is one of the aisles.  Daddy pointed out that most of the senior citizens in this picture will be gone by the end of the month, something about snowbirds flying back North.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Hi out there -- the Wild Alaskan Mountain Pug-turned-Florida Swamp Pug is back!  And what an auspicious day to return as it was my 7th birthday yesterday!  Mommy doesn't count her birthdays anymore (I think it is because she can't count that high), so she suggested we all skip mine as well.  WHAT?!?!?  Me, the party pug, forego an excuse to eat ice cream cake?  No way . . .

Ok, guys, stop with the pictures.  Time for caaakkkee!

I am salivating just being so close to the cake.  It is vanilla-chocolate with the scrumptious chocolate crunchies.

My thoughful sister made me the birthday crown.  I think I look so regal . . .
