Well, Daddy and I made it! We are starting to settle in; I have successfully sniffed all the corners of the house and am starting to scope the property. Mommy has finally uploaded some pictures of my trip:

Progress Update
Just wanted to update you from the road. Thank you for the many suggestions about where to live next. Unfortunately, my parents don't listen to me at all, so where we end up is a mystery to me. So far, we have taken the ferry from Alaska to Prince Rupert, and have driven through British Columbia, Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska. We overnighted in Colorado (I asked Daddy if we could go visit Emmitt and Melissa, but he said we had to make time), and are on our way to Kansas . . .

What?!?
I am recovering quite nicely from my operation. The vet was very pleased I lost 1.5 lbs; my staples are even out! Look at my new svelte self in the picture below:
I cut quite a figure, don't I?
So, now for the shocking news. Mommy and my little sister left on the airplane for someplace back in the lower 48 states; Daddy and I are going to follow in the car. My parents wouldn't tell me where we are going, but they said we are moving out of Alaska. What?!? But I love this place -- where else can I go crabbing on the beach? I will try to keep you all posted as we hit the road . . .

Happy Easter
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am coming along quite nicely (although I could do with a bit more treats). Mommy calls me the fastest three-legged dog in Alaska. She was mad at me yesterday as she found me climbing up and down our stairs; she threatened to
snitch me out to the vet, but then I told her I would tell the vet she took off my lampshade before she was supposed to. Mommy is totally busted!
The krill much be coming back -- we have had a plethora of seabirds feasting in the water and whales feeding:

Post-Op Day 1
Greetings blogging world! Thank you for all the well wishes and thoughts and prayers -- I believe it really helped. I am home now (I actually came home last night -- Mommy says it is because the vet couldn't stand to see my mug anymore) and enjoying some cuddling from the whole family. I tried to avoid the camera (who wants to have pictures taken of them when they are not feeling or looking their best?), but Mommy believes in blackmail:
This is actually a good shot of me -- I think the little bandage on my front leg is quite attractive. That is where they placed the IV and drew blood
What I dislike most is the stupid lampshade around my neck -- what's up with that? Mommy says it is to prevent me from licking my wound, but it certainly is interfering with my begging for food!
So the vet says I cannot jump or climb stairs. And he said I needed to lose weight -- way to get a girl when she is down!

Surgery Day
Hi guys! By the time you read this, I will probably be in surgery -- I had to type it in before I left for the vet and asked Mommy to upload it when she got back home.
First of all, thank you to all you bloggers out there for keeping me in your thoughts and thinking of me! It has made me and my family realize how lucky we are to have blogging friends out there for us. I look forward to having new knees to run around on. My family promised to update you guys as the day progresses.
Secondly, Grandma arrived yesterday so she can take care of my sister while Mommy devotes all her attention on ME! Yay for Grandmas!
Finally, to leave on an uplifting note, we were happy to see all the animals returning to Alaska (a sure sign of spring!). We saw dolphins, whales, and a multitude of birds over the weekend . . .

Good afternoon everyone! This is Frances' little sister here to update everyone on her condition. The vet's assistant just called Mommy to let her know that Frances is out of surgery and is recovering. Apparently, everything went "very well". Mommy said the vet will call later to let us know on Frances' progress, but she might need to stay overnight at the clinic (yay -- more attention for me!)

Leg Update
Ok, I am back from the vet and I was diagnosed with a subluxing patella, actually bilateral subluxing patellas. In pug language, my kneecaps are moving out of their sockets -- ouch! The vet says either I tore or stretched some ligament-thingy in the past or the grooves that hold the kneecap in place are too shallow. Either way, I have it bad (I am a grade 3 out of 4) and I will need surgery. Holy cow! I thought I was too young to start having knee problems (Daddy has knee problems but he is way old!) . . .
So now I am on an anti-inflammatory and taking chondroitin-glucosamine. Daddy has to take that too for his joints, but the vet said that Daddy can't share my medicine.
Thank you to all the bloggers out there who were wishing me well. You guys are the bomb! My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.
