First chihuahuas, now this?

As you all know, we have recently returned from our adventure up north to visit the grandparents. You may or may not recall that Grandmother also has a white rat (aka chihuahua) that hangs around. I thought that was all I would have to deal with when I stepped into Grandmother's house, but nooooo! I was in for a surprise when I first saw the cages, and then the creatures that lived in them:

I am attempting to guess what creatures live in those cages (hint, hint -- you can see one of them lurking in the background)

There it is again on the step . . .

Bingo! They are ferrets!

Mommy says that my uncle got tired of raising them so he "gave" them to my Grandmother. I think Grandma must have an obsession with rat-like creatures . . .

Watch out for them, they like to steal food!! Uncle Brandon's would steal stuff out of the cat dishes, the cabinets and anyplace else he could get open!! He would hide candy under the cousin's bed =) Sneaky ferrets!!

I've heard ferrets have an odd smell. Is that true? I've always wondered...
