Post-Op Day 1

Greetings blogging world! Thank you for all the well wishes and thoughts and prayers -- I believe it really helped. I am home now (I actually came home last night -- Mommy says it is because the vet couldn't stand to see my mug anymore) and enjoying some cuddling from the whole family. I tried to avoid the camera (who wants to have pictures taken of them when they are not feeling or looking their best?), but Mommy believes in blackmail:

This is actually a good shot of me -- I think the little bandage on my front leg is quite attractive. That is where they placed the IV and drew blood

Notice the staples on my hind leg? Poor me!

What I dislike most is the stupid lampshade around my neck -- what's up with that? Mommy says it is to prevent me from licking my wound, but it certainly is interfering with my begging for food!

So the vet says I cannot jump or climb stairs. And he said I needed to lose weight -- way to get a girl when she is down!

Aw, the bandage on your front leg looks like you got a tattoo...especially in the first pic! LOL! I hope you get lots of pain meds and some good rest in these next few days! ((HUGS))

Oh you poor baby!!!

We like your lampshade! Mom says not to look up when it's raining outside!

We're glad to hear that you're on the mend and hope you're back to normal soon so you can post more adventures up there in Alaska.

Hugs and kisses,
Salinger

My cat just recently had to wear onf those. Not a happy camper! Frances, this is very important, do as the Vet says. Do you have to have the other knee done too?

Poor sweetie. So glad to hear you are doing ok and get an update. The sticker on your leg is pretty. You should ask for a more fashionable lampshade.

Gracie here - love the bandage, it's very pretty.

George here - When I had to wear one of those lampshades, mom called it a satellite dish. I tried real hard to get Animal Planet with it, but it didn't work;-(

We're both very glad that you are going well, and that you are home now.

PS - We're both on the pudgy side...mom says that it just means that we have more to love on. Mom has LOTS more to love on. Hee-hee

Oh, Frances - we're so glad you got to come home and didn't even have to stay at the vet's over night. The lampshade is quite becoming on you - just consider it a fashion commentary on the Elizabethan age.

So glad you are home safe and sound!

Your bandage is quite attractive!
I am sorry about the cone though, Indy liked hers since I hand fed her everything lol although if you move like Gus, tell your mom and dad to get used to chunks being removed from their legs!
