I have this thing with sticks. I love to chew on them. It drives Mommy nuts when we are walking -- I will stop on a dime and start gnawing on a shrub or little shoots that are coming up from the ground. And I keep chewing and chewing and chewing. Until Mommy gets inpatient -- then she will snap the branch off. That doesn't faze me as I will keep biting it until Mommy tosses it away. This is one big stick I dragged home with me . . . whew! it was hard work but well worth the effort.
Yummmm. Nice chewing.
I like to think of this as a gigantic toothpick
On a different note, I want to give my Daddy a big hug for staying calm and collected today while he was taking on the Borough officials. There was some legal snafu with his trying to start up his diving business; but he managed to get through it and now he is approved to begin establishing his own little scuba diving emporium. Yay!!

WoW! Those are some big sticks. Maybe you have some Mountain Lion in your genes. LOL! Congratulations to your Dad person. Will he wear those boots when he goes diving? HAHA!
Congrats to your dad. That is a big undertaking. We hope it does well for him. As for the stick, all I can say is oh my goodness. I like chewing on pens and pencils, and I like shredding kleenex, but I am not so sure about sticks. I wonder why that is. I'll have to think about it.

Frances, LOVE your blog! If it's okay with you, I'm going to add you to my favorites list.
Gah, your dad likes to go "underwater"...he is BRAVE! Congrats to him and don't be putting anyone's eyes out with that stick!
That is a great stick. Emmitt says the last time he tried to bring a stick half that size in the house through the doggy door, he bounced back onto his butt. He forgot to turn the stick side ways and well...richoted off of the door frame. He did make mom and dad laugh though, so not all was lost. :)
Wow! You've got big sticks in Alaska! I love sticks too, mulch, anything wood that comes from outdoors. Also love leaves. Good stuff. However, it makes me puke, so it's a love-hate relationship.
My overprotective Mother is worried that a stick could rupture my intestinal walls, but I don't think so, and besides, I always puke it up!
Hey, there is nothing like a great big ole stick. We love em too. How did you get your Mom to let you bring that stick in the house? Our Mom only lets us have them outside.
Love, Seadra and Zoe
Yea for your daddy! I can't imagine getting the cold water up where you live. Speak softly and carry a big stick!
Kudos on the stick - I love big sticks too but I've never been able to get away with one that big! Also, scuba diving in Alaska sounds... chilly. How does that work?
