The Embarrassment Never Ends

It snowed overnight Saturday, and then it became a little warm so everything turned to slush. Now if there is something I dislike a little bit more than rain or snow, it's slush. When Mommy tried to bring me out yesterday morning, I took one step into the hellish concoction and decided being paw-deep in this cold-wet slurpee mix is not my thing, so I refused to move. Well, Mommy had her revenge by slapping on some red bootie-things and a mauve jacket on me. Now I know I have stated that my parents are not fashion icons, but I find this particular combination a bit . . . nauseating. You would think that multiple hours of watching Project Runway would rub off on Mommy. Obviously, this is not the case.

Here I am with all four paws out, trying to make myself REALLY heavy so Mommy can't pick me up to force me outside where everyone can witness my shame.

Unfortunately, Mommy is much bigger than me so we ended up outside. Surprisingly, the booties did help me paws -- I actually liked having them on (but don't tell my parents that). But that mauve jacket has got to go . . .

You have to suffer a little, I guess, to live in such a pretty place. It looks like you just collapsed with those boots on. I like your festive rug!

Can you walk in those things?

We tried them, but Giggs just walked around shaking his feet until he managed to shake them off.

I think you look precious even if you do clash a bit!

Poor Frances - moms love to embarrass us fur kids. But your boots look really cool! I wonder if I could get some...

Oh Frances! You look so cute! I love your booties and sweater! So, how does that spread eagle dead weight strategy work for you? I do that too, and I swear I do get heavier. Unfortunately, momma is still always able to scoop me up.

You look like one of those old ladies who likes to wear purple and red together. I'm not sure why they do that. Anyway, I guess you ARE fashionable in some peoples' circles :)

I love your booties! Where did you get them? I think I need some because of how cold the ground is - I pick up my little feeties one at a time when I go out to do my bidness. Sorry about the clashing sweater though - but you're in Alaska now, not NYC, so I doubt anyone will even notice or judge! :)
